Fever in an eight-year-old child every month may be caused by congenital heart disease, immunodeficiency diseases, etc., which need to be treated according to the specific disease.
1. Congenital heart disease (e.g. ventricular septal defect) may cause increased blood flow to the lungs, which in turn may easily complicate respiratory infections and cause fever. Surgery is usually required.
2. If a child has an immunodeficiency disease and is immunocompromised, he or she is very susceptible to fever as a result of infection with pathogens. It may need to be treated by transfusion of gammaglobulin, leukocytes, immune serums, cytokines or by using hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, thymus transplantation or bone marrow transplantation.
Eight-year-old children who have a fever every month are advised to seek active medical attention to identify the cause of the disease and to carry out targeted treatment.
