Fire is the heat evidence in traditional Chinese medicine. The redness of the child’s face may be physiological or pathologic, and if it is pathologic, it is more likely to be considered a heat syndrome.
According to Chinese medicine, redness in the face of a child is not necessarily pathological, but may also be caused by too warm clothing, too much activity, sun exposure, fire, crying, etc. If there are no other symptoms other than redness, it is possible that the child is suffering from heat. If there is no other discomfort besides redness, it is considered to be physiologic and does not require treatment.
If the red face is accompanied by sore throat and floating pulse, it is considered to be a heat syndrome, and wind-heat is the main cause. If zygomatic redness (redness of cheeks and zygomatic bones), hot flashes (a burst of heat), red lips and mouth are the main symptoms in the afternoon, it may be a deficiency heat syndrome.
In addition, there are two zygomatic color red like makeup, face white limbs syncope, cold sweating, etc., for the deficiency of yang up over (the relative lack of yang qi affects the head and face), belong to the critical signs.
If the child’s red face is accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible in order to clarify the cause, do not blindly deal with their own.
