What’s wrong with being thirsty after drinking?

The causes of thirst after drinking alcohol mainly include osmotic diuresis, stimulation of the nerve center and osmotic dehydration.
1. Osmotic diuresis: Alcohol creates a certain osmotic pressure in the blood vessels. The higher osmotic pressure stimulates the kidneys to intensify their work in order to lower the osmotic pressure, so this leads to the outflow of water from the kidneys, and the body becomes thirsty due to lack of water.
2. Direct stimulation of the nerve center: Alcohol can directly stimulate the nerve center and paralyze the nerves, thus making the nerves produce the feeling of thirst.
3. Osmotic dehydration: Alcohol causes a hypertonic state in the blood vessels, causing extracellular fluid to be transported into the blood vessels, leading to dehydration of the tissue cells and the sensation of thirst.
Alcohol is a class I carcinogen, drinking is harmful to health, in case of discomfort after drinking, it is recommended to seek medical attention.
