How to recover from a humeral stem fracture after surgery?

  The specific rehabilitation plan needs to be individualized according to the individual situation I. Purpose: To increase local blood circulation, eliminate swelling, accelerate the repair of the surrounding soft tissue injury, and prevent complications such as muscle atrophy and joint stiffness in the upper limb; to increase the squeezing pressure of the two fracture ends on the heavy axis, prevent the separation of the broken ends of the bone, promote fracture healing, and prevent decalcification.  Functional exercise methods: 1. After fixation, you can do extension and flexion of finger, palm and wrist joints, and do active muscle contraction activities of the affected limb.  2. Shoulder and elbow joint activities: 2-4 weeks after the injury, in addition to continuing the above training, gradually do shoulder and elbow joint activities by holding the wrist of the affected limb with the healthy hand, doing shoulder, 3, elbow forward flexion and backward extension, then flexing the elbow joint, while extending the upper arm backward.  4.Rotary shoulder joint: The patient’s body is tilted to the affected side, the elbow joint is flexed over 900, the healthy hand holds the wrist on the affected side, and the shoulder joint is rotated, i.e., in a circular motion.  5.Abduction and external rotation: Abduct and rotate the upper arm and touch the back of the head with your hand.  6. Arm rotation: The affected limb is bent at the elbow, the forearm is placed in front of the chest, and the palm is backward and upward; the upper limb on the healthy side is straightened, abducted to the side of the body, and the palm is downward. Affected limb to the outside of the upper via the outside of the lower and then inward arc circle, back to the original; while the healthy side of the upper limb down through the upper direction of the outward arc circle, back to the original. So on and so forth. This method can make the shoulder, elbow, waist, legs, neck can be exercised. The above exercise method is 15 minutes each time, 3-4 times a day.  Caution: When exercising function, insist on exercising, the activity amplitude and strength should be gradual. During the period of internal or external fixation, it is forbidden to do forward flexion and internal flexion of the shoulder joint.
