What to do about steam burns

After being scalded by steam, you can use cold water to rinse the affected area repeatedly, as well as medication to disinfect and treat it. 1. Cold water rinsing: The affected area of the scald is rinsed with a stream of water for 20~30 minutes to prevent heat from further damaging the wound and to reduce pain, edema and other discomforts. 2. Local disinfection: After rinsing with cold water, disinfect the wound with iodine to keep it dry and clean. 3. Medication: After cleaning and disinfecting the steam burn, apply trauma cream locally. If the scalded area is more intense, you can take oral ibuprofen and other painkillers; if the affected area appears to be ulcerated, erosion symptoms, you can take oral amoxicillin and other anti-inflammatory drugs. Steam burns are more serious, should go to the regular hospital in time. After the scalded medication need to be guided by a doctor.
