What is arytenoid cartilage

The arytenoid cartilage is the paired cartilage that makes up the laryngeal cartilage, mainly located on the upper surface of the cricoid cartilage, and it has a special shape that resembles a trigon, so it has a tip, a base, and a corresponding face. The cricoid cartilage is part of the cartilage that makes up the larynx, so in acute laryngitis, it may be the arytenoid cartilage that is inflamed, and its recovery can be promoted by reducing speech, taking proper rest, and drinking more water. Injury to the larynx can also easily lead to dislocation of the arytenoid cartilage. If the arytenoid cartilage is dislocated, it may cause localized pain, difficulty swallowing, or manifestations of hoarseness.
