Neonatal umbilical cord pus is due to neonatal umbilicitis. After the birth of a newborn, the child needs to be given timely umbilical cord care, such as the need to disinfect the newborn’s navel with iodine volts every day, otherwise the newborn will have redness and swelling of the umbilicus, which can seriously lead to neonatal umbilical cord pus, which is a manifestation of neonatal umbilicitis. Because the immunity of the newborn is very low after birth, if care is not taken to disinfect the treatment, infection will often occur. In particular, some parents of newborns take very poor care of their children, such as not insisting on daily disinfection of the umbilical cord, and dipping the newborn in less than clean bath water, which are all triggers of neonatal umbilicosis. Neonatal umbiliculitis can cause pus in the umbilicus of newborns and even lead to neonatal sepsis, so it must be prevented and regulated.
