What are the diagnostic criteria for OGTT

The OGTT diagnostic criteria, also known as the 75g glucose glucose tolerance diagnostic criteria, is done mainly at 24-28 weeks of gestation to exclude pregnant women from having gestational diabetes or diabetes combined with pregnancy. The normal fasting glucose value is 5.1mmol/L, the normal glucose value one hour after taking sugar is 10.0mmol/L, and the normal glucose value two hours after taking sugar is 8.5mmol/L. As long as any of these three values ≥ the above criteria, gestational diabetes can be diagnosed. High glucose during pregnancy has adverse effects on both mother and child, and is prone to complications such as giant baby, excessive amniotic fluid, hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, fetal respiratory distress syndrome and postpartum hemorrhage. It is recommended to control diet first, with small and frequent meals, coarse and fine, and strengthen exercise, and review blood sugar two hours after three meals, which should be controlled below 6.7mmol/L. If the blood sugar is still unsatisfactory after dietary control, insulin treatment should be considered again.
