What are vaginal tumors?

Vaginal tumors are relatively uncommon and include both primary and secondary metastatic tumors. Vaginal tumors can be classified as benign or malignant. Benign originates from the vaginal smooth muscle and is mainly triggered by the embryonic remains that occur during the development of Mullerian ducts. Malignant tumors include hemangiosarcoma, melanoma, and rhabdomyosarcoma, and tend to have a low five-year survival rate of about 10% once they appear, with or without surgical treatment. Annual physical examinations are recommended. Early detection and early treatment can be achieved through physical examination.
