The normal range of the absolute value of lymphocytes is (0.8~4)*10^9/L, and the decrease of the lymphocyte count refers to the absolute value of <0.8*10^9/L.
Lower lymphocyte count can be seen in viral infections, such as new coronavirus, adrenocorticotropic hormone, immunosuppressive drugs and other factors; it can also be seen in immunodeficiency diseases, hypogammaglobulinemia and other disease factors; and it can also be seen in some normal people.
However, a single decrease in the number of lymphocytes is not diagnostic of the disease, and needs to be combined with the values of white blood cells, neutrophils, and the patient’s clinical manifestations to make a joint judgment.
If you have a low absolute lymphocyte count, you should not be overly alarmed, and it is recommended that you consult a doctor to find out the cause.
