How to treat advanced spinal cervical spondylosis

In the advanced stage of spinal cord cervical spondylosis, anterior approach surgery, posterior approach surgery, and combined posterior-anterior approach surgery can be performed. 1. Anterior approach surgery: In general, patients with anterior compression of the spinal cord choose anterior cervical approach surgery. It is less traumatic, less bleeding, easy to visualize, and can directly remove the pressure-causing material located in the front of the spinal cord, with good decompression effect. 2. Posterior approach: For patients with anterior and posterior spinal cord compression and spinal stenosis, posterior cervical approach is the most common choice, which can directly relieve the compression of the spinal cord at the posterior side and indirectly decompress the spinal cord at the anterior side through backward drifting of the spinal cord. 3. Posterior-anterior combined approach: For patients with extensive compression of the anterior aspect of the spinal canal, anterior and posterior compression of the spinal cord, and excessive compression, the posterior-anterior combined approach can be chosen according to the condition of the patient. It should be noted that this procedure is more invasive and carries a higher surgical risk. Spinal cord cervical spondylosis is one of the more serious types of cervical spondylosis and should be treated promptly to avoid delays.
