Red jujube and Chenpi are both Chinese herbs, and red jujube has the effect of tonifying the middle and benefiting the qi (treating qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen), nourishing the blood and tranquilizing the mind; Chenpi has the effect of regulating qi and strengthening the spleen, and drying dampness and resolving phlegm (expelling dampness and dissolving phlegm in a way that dries dampness). Both of them also have the above effects, but the medicinal ingredients are limited and their effects are weaker.
The medicinal source of jujube is the dried mature fruit of jujube of the family Rhamnaceae, which has the effect of tonifying the middle and benefiting the qi, nourishing the blood and calming the spirit, and can be used in the treatment of spleen deficiency and low food intake, women’s dirty agitation (upset and depression, sadness and wanting to cry for no apparent reason), and insomnia. However, jujube can help dampness and generate heat, so it is not suitable for people with dampness and fullness (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) or stagnation and phlegm-heat.
Chenpi is the dried mature fruit peel of orange and its cultivated varieties in the family of Rutaceae, which has the effect of regulating qi and strengthening the spleen, drying dampness and resolving phlegm, and can be used for the treatment or improvement of spleen and stomach qi stagnation, dampness obstruction of abdominal distension and fullness, vomiting, eructation (hiccups), wet phlegm and cold phlegm, coughing and phlegm, and thoracic paralysis (chest tightness and pain).
The two brewed water for drinking generally also has some of the above effects, but can be analyzed less medicinal ingredients, the efficacy is relatively weak compared to the drug, can not replace the drug to cure the disease. In addition, if you need to use medication, it is recommended that you do so under the guidance of a Chinese medicine practitioner, and do not blindly use Chinese herbs alone or in combination.
