What happened to the vaginal folds?

Vaginal folds are the normal form of vaginal wall tissue expression in women. Adult women have many transverse folds in the vaginal wall, and the vaginal wall folds make the vagina have good stretching and retractability.
The front wall of the vagina is 7-9 centimeters long, and the back wall is 9-12 centimeters long. When the vagina is excited, there is still a certain amount of elongation and expansion, which can accommodate the delivery of a fetus with a biparietal diameter of about 10 centimeters.
Vaginal folds may change with low hormone levels and increased number of vaginal deliveries, resulting in a decrease in vaginal folds and decreased elasticity of the vaginal walls, etc. This is most commonly seen in menopausal or postmenopausal women as well as those who have had multiple vaginal deliveries. In pre-pubertal women, there are no obvious vaginal folds, and as the ovarian function is perfected, the vaginal folds gradually form in the same way as in adult women.
For specific cases, it is recommended to consult a specialized doctor.
