How long does it take for a gastroscopy biopsy wound to heal

The speed of wound healing in gastroscopic biopsy is related to the size of the wound and your own physical condition. Gastroscopic biopsy is a gastroscopic examination in which abnormal tissue is found locally in the gastric mucosa, and in order to clarify the cause, some tissue is removed locally and sent to pathology, which can help clarify the diagnosis. Generally, for gastroscopic biopsy wounds, the gastroscope will observe for a while after taking the biopsy, and will only exit the gastroscope if there is no active bleeding. If the wound is small and the person is in good health, the mucosa heals in about 48 hours, however, complete healing usually takes a week later. However, if the wound is large and the health is poor, and if you do not pay attention to the usual daily care after the examination, this may lead to difficulty in healing and prolonged wound healing time. Generally, after the gastroscopy biopsy, it is routinely recommended to eat after 4 hours. In the early stage, you can eat warm, soft and liquid food, avoiding foods that are not easily digestible, spicy and too hot, so as not to stimulate the wound and affect the healing. The healing of the biopsy wound will be delayed if aspirin or glucocorticoids and other drugs that damage the gastric mucosa are taken. The suitability for gastroscopic biopsy needs to be decided by the doctor on a case-by-case basis during the gastroscopy.
