Inflammatory changes are inflammation of organs or tissues of the body caused by bacterial infection or other causes, such as lymphadenitis caused by bacterial infection of the lymph nodes on the body surface or appendicitis caused by bacterial infection of the appendix in the abdominal cavity. Inflammatory changes are treated with different antibiotics depending on the infecting bacteria. In the case of Gram-positive coccus infection, first- or second-generation cephalosporins, such as cefradine and cefothiamidine, are usually chosen. In case of E. coli infection, which is Gram-negative bacillus, choose third- or fourth-generation cephalosporins for symptomatic treatment. If the inflammatory disease is caused by acute appendicitis or acute perforated appendicitis, surgical treatment, i.e. appendectomy or laparoscopic appendectomy, is usually required for treatment. In the case of non-infectious factors such as rheumatic diseases like vasculitis, histopathology may also show inflammatory changes and treatment is given accordingly to each disease.
