Colds are mainly caused by viral infections and are usually mild, short-lived and self-limiting. Symptomatic treatment is the mainstay of treatment, and at the same time, quit smoking, pay attention to rest, drink more water, and there is no drug that works quickly for all colds. 1. Symptomatic treatment: Colds are characterized by symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing and nasal congestion. If the symptoms are serious, medicines can be used to alleviate the symptoms, such as the use of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride capsules to improve nasal congestion, runny nose, and ibuprofen can be used to reduce fever. 2. Antibiotic treatment: Antibiotics are not needed for common cold. If there is evidence of bacterial infection such as elevated white blood cells, pus in the pharynx, yellow sputum and runny nose, oral amoxicillin, cefuroxime and other anti-infective treatments can be used according to local epidemiologic history and experience. 3. Antiviral drug therapy: For patients without fever, normal immune function, and the onset of the disease is not more than 2 days, generally do not need to apply antiviral drugs. For immunodeficient patients, antiviral drugs such as oseltamivir and ribavirin can be used routinely at an early stage, which can shorten the course of the disease. Cold and flu patients should follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not unauthorized diagnosis of medication to avoid adverse reactions.
