Viral infections are usually characterized by an elevated lymphocyte percentage and lymphocyte count, some of which may be accompanied by an elevated white blood cell count. However, the neutrophil percentage and neutrophil count of patients can be normal. Generally, viral infections are considered to be influenza, or viral flu, which is self-healing. Patients can recover in about 1 week with or without treatment, but if they have a combination of fever, chills, cough, sputum, sore throat and other discomforts, symptomatic support treatment can be given accordingly. If the child has a fever over 38°C, consider giving anti-inflammatory pain suppositories or oral cooling drugs along with physical cooling. If there are symptoms such as coughing and coughing sputum, loquat paste or cough suppressant can be given.
