What’s with the white worms in the stool?

White worms found in the stool are considered to be the presence of a parasitic infection. Common clinical parasitic infections include pinworms and roundworms. Pinworm infection can have no obvious symptoms, the anus or perineum itching at night, affecting sleep, children will cry and restless, will cause congestion of the skin around the anus, rash, eczema. Ascariasis, on the other hand, can present with pain around the umbilicus, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, and urticaria. Children may also present with salivation, teeth grinding, and irritability, and in severe cases, malnutrition. To make a definitive diagnosis, routine fecal examinations, microscopy, and even perianal fingerprinting are needed.
