Brain hemorrhage drainage usually clears up in a few days

The duration of cerebral hemorrhage drainage is related to the type of drainage. It can range from 2 to 14 days.
The time for a brain hemorrhage drain to be removed is based on the treatment of the patient’s condition and the CT results.
When craniotomy is done for brain hemorrhage, postoperative subcutaneous drainage is usually removed in about 2 days.
Drainage of hematoma cavity needs to be decided according to the review of CT hematoma drainage, usually 3~7 days.
Lateral ventricular drainage: generally 7~14 days depending on the situation.
If the drainage time is too short, the drainage may be incomplete, and if the drainage time is too long, it may increase the risk of intracranial infection.
The duration of cerebral hemorrhage drainage needs to be consulted with a neurosurgeon and carried out in strict compliance with medical advice.
