Can babies be allergic to eggs?

Eggs are made up of a large amount of protein and babies who are allergic to protein are allergic to eggs. Babies allergic to eggs will experience changes in the skin and mucous membranes, mainly in the form of congestion around the lips, a windbag-like rash or even a rash on other parts of the body. Some babies may also develop respiratory allergies, shortness of breath and wheezing, which can be characterized by sudden difficulty breathing and a wheezing sound. Some babies may also experience vomiting and diarrhea, which may require temporary cessation of egg consumption and symptomatic treatment at the hospital. Parents are advised to give their babies less egg yolk before eating eggs, and then slowly increase the amount if they are not allergic.
