How to get vitamin C for children

If a clear diagnosis of vitamin C deficiency is made, oral administration of high doses of vitamin C, 300-500 mg per day, is usually recommended. in gastrointestinal disorders and severe cases, 500-1000 mg per day intravenously should be given, and then switched to oral administration after 1-3 days, with improvement of the symptoms within 1-2 days of treatment. Bone lesions take a long time to recover, while prevention should be the mainstay in general. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables rich in vitamin C, such as spinach, oranges and apples. Encourage breastfed pediatrics, artificial feeders, timely addition of vitamin C-rich complementary foods or vitamin C preparations. The general daily requirement for pediatrics is 30-50mg, increasing to 100mg for preterm infants, and should be increased accordingly in case of infection.
