Mild hiccups can often be relieved on their own without treatment. If the hiccups persist, you can try the breath-holding method to relieve them. That is, have the patient take a sitting or standing position, close the mouth and inhale deeply, then quickly and forcefully hold the breath, then open the mouth and slowly let it out. If hiccups occur during the breath-holding process, you can repeat the above process. There are two types of hiccups: one is called erratic, which occurs when you are stimulated by cold or heat, or when you are suddenly angry or excited and make several short sounds in a row. Another type is belching, which is also known as belching. Healthy hiccups occur after swallowing, coughing, laughing, or drinking beer or carbonated beverages. You can eat fewer and more frequent meals, eat a liquid diet that is easy to digest, chew and swallow slowly when eating, pay attention to eating rules, and do not overeat. Drinking less carbonated beverages and not drinking cold water or cold beer can avoid hiccups.
