Late stage esophageal cancer symptoms

As esophageal tumors develop over a long period of time without proper treatment, the tumors in the esophagus tend to grow infiltratively and can block the esophagus or severely affect eating. In advanced stages of esophageal cancer, difficulty in entering water often occurs, which manifests as vomiting soon after eating or drinking. If the esophageal cancer is in a high location, it can manifest as a direct inability to eat.

Because of the rapid growth of malignant tumors, the metabolic rate is high and consumes a lot of nutrients in the body. Patients can show cachexia, such as hypoproteinemia, or anemia, and patients can feel extremely fatigued.

Tumor cells can also metastasize through the blood or lymphatic tract and present with other sites of tumor manifestations. The site of the esophageal tumor and the symptoms are closely related. If the site of occurrence is low, such as in the third stricture of the esophagus, the patient can often eat a small amount of food and wait until it makes the esophagus unstable, then vomiting will occur, and this type of esophageal tumor is often found late. The first of these tumors is located in the first stricture of the esophagus, because the performance is very typical, early can be manifested as eating disorders, often found earlier, easy to get timely diagnosis and treatment.
