Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang

Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula that treats phlegm-drinking (a pathological product of impaired metabolism of water and liquids) associated with deficiency of yang in the middle Jiao. Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang is mainly composed of Poria, Gui Zhi, Rhizoma Atractylodes Macrocephalae, and Radix et Rhizoma Glycyrrhizae, and has the effects of warming Yang and resolving phlegm-drinking (warming the Yang qi of the body to promote the metabolism of water and liquids), invigorating the spleen and inducing dampness. Ling Gui Zhu Gan Tang is used to treat phlegm-drinking with deficiency of Yang in the middle Jiao, with symptoms such as fullness in the chest (i.e., fullness of the chest and support of the chest and ribs), dizziness, palpitations (rapid heartbeat, often accompanied by panic), and shortness of breath with coughing.
