What does grade A pancreatic fistula mean?

Grade A pancreatic fistula is one of the clinical types of pancreatic fistula, also known as biochemical fistula, which only shows elevated amylase in the drainage fluid without other clinical symptoms. Grade A pancreatic fistula can usually return to normal on its own without special treatment. There are also two types of pancreatic fistulas: grade B fistulas and grade C fistulas. grade B fistulas are characterized by elevated amylase in the drainage fluid and corresponding clinical symptoms, such as fever, abdominal pain, and so on. Antibiotics and growth inhibitors are commonly used for treatment, or puncture drainage is used. Grade C fistula is a relatively serious type of pancreatic fistula, which mostly produces serious complications such as severe infection, abdominal hemorrhage, and may even cause multi-organ failure. Surgery is usually required. Suspected pancreatic fistula, the patient should immediately inform the attending physician, improve the relevant examination, clear diagnosis, and then take the appropriate treatment program.
