If there is a meatball inside the anus, it depends on whether the meatball can move freely. If the meatball can move freely, it may be a rectal polyp or anal papilloma. Rectal polyps are usually bright red in color, soft to the touch, and bleed easily when touched. If it is a papilloma, the color is usually off-white, the texture is tough, and it does not bleed easily when touched. Whether it is a rectal polyp or a papilloma, both need to be removed surgically. If the polyp is not removed, it will be repeatedly stimulated by the stool inside the anus, which will lead to increasing size and may have a tendency to become malignant after a long period of time, for example, several years. Therefore, early surgical removal is recommended. If the ball of flesh is immobile and painful, it may be a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Thrombosed hemorrhoids usually grow in the anal canal area and most of them also require surgery to cure them completely.
