Dangers of Uterine Artery Embolization Surgery

The risks of uterine artery embolization procedures are: i. Regurgitation of embolic agents, misembolization, and thrombosis of the attached wall. ii. Lower abdominal pain, which usually appears within 6-8 hours after the procedure and can last for several days. III. Embolization syndrome, including fever, irregular vaginal bleeding, nausea, vomiting, etc. IV. Soreness and weakness of lower limbs. V. Discharge of necrotic tissue due to uterine ischemia. VI. Occult ovarian failure, which may be mainly caused by prolonged intraoperative exposure to radiation and reduced ovarian blood supply, resulting in impaired ovarian function.
