The adopted foraminoscopic technique uses a uniquely designed foraminoscope and the corresponding set of supporting surgical instruments to enter the foramen from the side or the back of the patient’s body and perform the surgery in the working triangle, with the working trocar placed in the epidural space, inferior to the nerve root, thus avoiding damage to the nerve root. Using a uniquely designed set of complete surgical instruments, after removing the protruding nucleus pulposus tissue under direct endoscopic vision, a special bipolar radiofrequency technique is used to ablate the residual tissue, stop the bleeding, and repair the ruptured annulus fibrosus. During the surgery, the patient is fully awake and the surgeon and patient can communicate with each other. The operation time is short, and it is safer, minimally invasive and more efficient than the previous traditional methods.
