What does MND mean?

MND, called motor neuron disease, is a series of chronic progressive neurological disorders in which upper and lower motor neuron changes are the prominent manifestation. It is characterized by a combination of upper and lower motor neuron damage and is characterized by muscle weakness and atrophy, medullary palsy, and pyramidal fasciculus signs. These diseases are usually insidious and slowly progressive in onset. Clinically, they include progressive myasthenia gravis, progressive medullary paralysis, primary lateral sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Patients may present with one type and then another, eventually evolving into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and it is more difficult to determine which type is present early in the disease. Therefore, they are all called MND motor neuron disease, and the prognosis is relatively poor because of the lack of specific effective clinical treatment drugs.
