How to use Orthodontic Protective Wax

The use of orthodontic protective wax mainly includes the preparation of wax balls, adhesion of protective wax and routine care. 1. Wax ball making: firstly, use the tool to scoop out an appropriate amount of orthodontic protective wax, generally its length is about two millimeters; then knead it into a small ball shape, in order to facilitate the subsequent use and bonding. 2. Adhesion: Use a mirror to adhere the wax ball to the upper edge of the archwire or bracket, and adjust the surface of the orthodontic wax so that it is smooth and has no abrasion to the mucous membrane; pay attention to sticking to the orthodontic device, not to the corresponding oral mucous membrane. 3. Routine care: It is recommended to remove the orthodontic wax before meals, and then replace it with a new orthodontic wax after oral cleansing and care after meals.
