What armored breasts look like with breast cancer

Armored chest of breast cancer means that the cancer foci diffusely infiltrate the breast, skin and deep muscles, and the chest wall lesions are fused and tightened like wearing armor.

Armored chest in breast cancer is a clinical manifestation of advanced stage, which means that the cancer foci are fused with each other and widely invade all breasts, skin of chest wall as well as deep muscles of breasts and ribs, and even invade the opposite side of chest wall and back, resulting in the breasts and lumps being tightly adhered to the chest wall, which is difficult to move. At the same time, the lesions are tightly packed and appear to be fused in a large dark purple-red color, as if the patient is wearing armor.

Patients with armored chest may experience discomfort and even difficulty breathing at the chest wall due to the tightness of the chest wall. Armored chest patients are generally difficult to treat surgically, and generally need respiratory support, and choose radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, etc. to prolong the patient’s survival and improve the quality of life.
