Drugs for treating high uric acid mainly include uric acid-excreting drugs, inhibiting uric acid-producing drugs, alkaline drugs and so on.
1. Uric acid-excluding drugs: such as benzbromarone, applicable to primary hyperuricemia. The adverse effects of this drug are mild, generally do not affect the liver and kidney function, a few have gastrointestinal reactions, allergic dermatitis, fever is rare, may also lead to serious liver damage. Allergic to the drug, moderate to severe renal impairment, suffering from kidney stones, pregnant women, and lactating women are prohibited.
2. Drugs that inhibit uric acid production: such as febuxostat, etc., can inhibit xanthine oxidase, so that the production of uric acid is reduced, and it is suitable for those who produce too much uric acid. Adverse reactions include gastrointestinal irritation, rash, fever, liver damage, bone marrow suppression. Allergic to the product, severe hepatic and renal insufficiency and obvious blood cell depression is prohibited.
3. Alkaline drugs: sodium bicarbonate, can alkalize the urine, so that uric acid is not easy to accumulate in the urine to form crystals, but long-term use of large quantities can lead to metabolic alkalosis, and due to high sodium load caused by edema.
It is recommended that patients with increased uric acid should go to the rheumatology and immunology department in time, and take the medication as prescribed by the doctor. During the period of taking the medication, it is recommended that the liver and kidney functions should be rechecked regularly, and if there is any abnormality, the medication should be adjusted in time or temporarily stopped.
