How to treat a newborn baby with a bump on his head

In the case of a newborn with a head mass that is soft to the touch, the most common cause is a scalp hematoma resulting from the birth process. If the hematoma is large in scope, you need to go to the hospital for puncture and blood extraction, pressure bandage, and faster absorption. If the hematoma is small in scope, you can observe it first and wait for it to absorb slowly by itself. If the hematoma is not well absorbed, it is easy to form mechanization and calcification in the later stage, leading to local bulging deformity, after which surgery may be needed to correct it. Long lumps may be soft tissue infection, need to be observed to see if there is local redness, swelling, heat, pain, ultrasound to confirm whether there is pus, if necessary, incision and drainage. In short, if the lump is obvious, it is still recommended to go to the hospital for examination.
