The severity of gallbladder wall thickening with gallbladder polyps depends on the size of the polyps, and the polyps with a diameter of more than 1cm are at risk of malignant transformation and require attention. Thickening of the gallbladder wall is a manifestation of ultrasound or CT imaging, mostly due to cholecystitis. When there are only imaging manifestations without obvious symptoms, observation is the mainstay and no special treatment is needed. When gallbladder wall thickening is accompanied by gallbladder polyps, if the diameter of the polyp is less than 1cm, it is mostly considered to be inflammatory polyps, which are usually benign, and can not be handled when there are no obvious symptoms. When the diameter of the polyp is greater than 1cm, there is a risk of malignant transformation, which requires attention and is recommended to be treated by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. If there are obvious clinical symptoms, it is recommended to perform timely surgical resection.
