What causes dry eyes and watery eyes

Patients who experience discomfort such as dry eyes and tearing can be the result of dry eye, visual fatigue, and eye inflammation. Dry eye disease can lead to a decrease in the patient’s basal tear secretion, because of the dryness of the eye surface, the patient may experience dry eyes, foreign body sensation and other discomforts. Because of the obvious eye discomfort, patients may experience increased reflex tear secretion, and patients may experience symptoms of tearing. In addition, patients with visual fatigue may also experience discomfort such as soreness, dryness, foreign body sensation, and tearing because of overuse of the eyes. Patients with ocular inflammation such as conjunctivitis and keratitis may also experience dry eyes, photophobia, tearing, and other symptoms when stimulated by inflammation. It is recommended that patients with significant symptoms of dryness and tearing should seek medical attention in a timely manner to have their condition evaluated and treated according to the doctor’s instructions.
