What is an isthmuscle?

The isthmus fracture of the vertebral arch is mostly seen in the lumbar spine and is a common clinical cause of low back pain. The underlying lesion is a discontinuity in the bone fracture at the isthmus, which destabilizes the lumbar spine and eventually aggravates and may lead to forward slippage of the vertebral body. The cause of isthmic fracture is not well understood at present, and may be related to congenital development, where the vertebral arch root is not formed during embryonic development and remains separated by the time of birth. In addition, chronic strain and stress fracture of the vertebral arch root is an acquired cause. The degree of isthmic fracture can be accurately determined by CT and 3D reconstruction of the lumbar spine. For lumbar spine isthmic fracture, if there are local pain symptoms, you can choose creams, such as flurbiprofen babu cream, for treatment. If accompanied by significant lumbar spine slippage instability, surgery needs to be considered in severe cases.
