Chronic constipation should not be cancer, because there are some indicators of cancer. For people over 40 years of age and with family history, such as siblings or close relatives such as parents, some of them have had rectal cancer or colon cancer, or recently there are changes in stool characteristics or habits, such as previously having three bowel movements a day but recently once every three days, or previously having very thick stools but now becoming thin, or previously having very thin stools but now becoming thick, accompanied by anemia, weight loss, and shortness of breath. In this case, it may be considered a combination of tumor. Patients suspected of having a tumor need to go to the hospital for examination, stool routine plus occult blood, and if they can tolerate colonoscopy, they may need to undergo colonoscopy. Therefore, for patients with long-term constipation, the first diet and life therapy, if the effect is not good, it is recommended to go to the hospital for examination, which is more reassuring.
