Can carotid atherosclerosis return to normal?

Carotid atherosclerosis is difficult to normalize. It mainly consists of conservative treatments, such as diet control and the use of statins. Severe stenosis requires stenting, etc. Carotid atherosclerosis is often associated with atherosclerosis and high blood pressure. Vascular changes are usually irreversible and require intervention through conservative treatment and surgery. 1. Conservative treatment. In the early stage of carotid atherosclerosis, we can control the diet actively, eat more green vegetables and fruits, and prohibit the consumption of high-salt and high-fat food; improve the bad habits of life, quit smoking and limiting alcohol, etc.; and control the underlying diseases, such as controlling the patient’s blood sugar and blood pressure. 2. Surgical treatment. If carotid atherosclerosis is serious, the stenosis is more than 70% or less than 70%, but there are obvious symptoms, such as dizziness, numbness of limbs, etc., stent implantation or carotid endarterectomy is needed. Carotid atherosclerosis needs to be taken seriously, timely consultation and standardized treatment.
