Liver-Qi stagnation is a condition characterized by a loss of liver detachment (abnormal function of liver detachment) and stagnation of Qi, which is mainly manifested by depression, distension and pain in the chest and ribs (a collective term for the chest and ribcage area) or the lesser abdomen (the lower abdomen). There are many formulas that can be used in the treatment, such as Chai Hu Shuo Liver Powder and Free and Easy Powder.
Free and Easy San: It is composed of licorice, angelica, poria, white peony and other medicines. It is effective in relieving liver depression, nourishing blood and strengthening the spleen. It can treat the syndrome of liver depression, blood deficiency and spleen weakness, which often manifests as pain in the two coils, headache and dizziness, dry mouth and throat, fatigue (lack of spirit), low food intake, cold and heat, menstrual disorders, breast distension and pain. Adverse effects and contraindications of this formula are not known.
