Venous anger is a condition that occurs due to poor venous return, causing excessive pressure in the venous vessels. The cause of impaired venous return may be a thrombotic blockage in the vein, or cirrhosis of the liver resulting in increased hepatic portal vein pressure. In addition, venous anger can occur when the right heart fails and the circulation becomes impaired, resulting in superior vena cava syndrome. Respiratory diseases, such as chronic bronchial asthma and tension pneumothorax, can also cause venous irritation.
