There is a difference between panic and atrial fibrillation. Panic refers to the clinical symptoms, while atrial fibrillation refers to the name of the disease. Many diseases have symptoms of panic, such as coronary artery disease and angina pectoris, which will have symptoms of panic during an attack, along with symptoms of chest tightness, shortness of breath, and pain in the precordial region. Patients with arrhythmias, atrial premature beats, ventricular premature beats, and a high number of premature beats will mainly have panic attacks with chest tightness and shortness of breath. Patients with atrial fibrillation do not have any symptoms when the ventricular rate is not fast. If the heart rate suddenly increases to more than 110 beats/min, the main symptom of patients is panic, and they may even have symptoms of chest tightness, shortness of breath and difficulty in breathing. Therefore, there is an essential difference between panic attack and atrial fibrillation. Sometimes patients with panic attack will have atrial fibrillation at the same time, while patients with atrial fibrillation will have panic attack as the main symptom.
