Usually, most patients with IgA nephropathy have a good long-term prognosis after active and standardized treatment, but there are some patients who are not treated with standardized treatment and have poor control of their disease, and their prognosis is poor. The prognosis of IgA nephropathy is generally closely related to proteinuria, blood pressure control, renal function status, pathological parameters and other factors. Clinical individual differences are large. 1. Proteinuria and blood pressure control: the control of proteinuria and hypertension will affect the rate of renal function decline and the prognosis of IgA nephropathy. Generally speaking, the prognosis is better for those who have been actively treated with standardized treatment, while the prognosis is worse for those who have poor control of the disease. 2. Renal function status: renal function status and prognosis are closely related, if active standardized treatment, renal function status is good, most of the patients have a good prognosis; if the onset or course of renal function abnormality is mostly suggestive of a poor prognosis, often manifested as a decline in glomerular filtration rate, serum creatinine level increases. 3. Pathological parameters: the degree of thylakoid proliferation, endothelial hyperplasia, crescent formation, glomerulosclerosis, tubular atrophy and interstitial fibrosis is closely related to the rate of decline in renal function and renal survival. The prognosis is usually better for patients with mild pathologic grading, while the prognosis for patients with severe grading is poor. 4. Other factors: obesity, hypoproteinemia, hyperuricemia are also risk factors for poor prognosis of IgA nephropathy, but after active standardization of diagnosis and treatment, most of the patients have a good prognosis; if they fail to actively control their condition, their prognosis will be poor. It is recommended that patients with IgA nephropathy should go to the hospital in time and follow the doctor’s instructions to avoid delaying their condition.
