It usually takes about 4-6 weeks to return to normal functioning of the wrist fracture, but the details may vary slightly. After 4-6 weeks after the wrist fracture, X-ray plain examination will be performed, if the fracture is obviously healed, you can move and lift heavy objects normally as before, but due to the prolonged braking of the affected limb, there may be unfavorable wrist joint movement, and there will be more than obvious swelling and pain when lifting heavy objects, generally after about 1 week of adaptation, most of them can return to normal level. However, patients with fractures involving the joint surface, severe comminuted fractures, or patients with more underlying diseases may suffer from complications such as traumatic arthritis, delayed healing or even non-healing of the fracture, and deformed healing of the fracture, which may lead to a slower recovery and a relatively longer time to return to normal operation. Patients in the recovery period need to review X-ray plain films regularly to understand the fracture healing, and can apply bone-setting, blood-activating, anti-swelling and pain-relieving drugs under the guidance of doctors to accelerate recovery.
