Acute attacks of gout usually return to normal in about 1~2 weeks, and chronic gout may last up to 1 month, depending on the patient’s condition and individual physical factors such as differences in duration. Patients in remission generally have no clear signs of gout, acute attack may appear severe joint pain, joint redness and swelling, local skin temperature rise and other symptoms. The pain is severe, cut-like or tear-like, and usually reaches its peak 24 hours after the attack.
