Vasculitis itself does not cause fever. The main cause of vasculitis is the inflammation of the intima of the blood vessels caused by smoking, which leads to blockage of small and medium-sized arteries throughout the body. In this case, the inflammation is more limited and does not cause a systemic inflammatory response, so there is usually no fever. However, patients with vasculitis who have been resting poorly for a long time due to pain often have a decreased immune system and develop infections in the lungs or other areas, sometimes causing limb necrosis due to ischemia and combined with local subcutaneous tissue infections, which sometimes cause fever and should be treated aggressively.
