What’s wrong with your child’s cool forehead?

A child’s cool forehead may be caused by physiological factors such as low temperature and immature development of the thermoregulatory center, or it may be caused by other reasons such as upper respiratory tract infection, hypothyroidism, and sepsis.
1. Physiological factors: If the child is in a low-temperature environment for a long period of time, and the child is not kept warm, it may lead to the child’s forehead cool performance. In addition, the immaturity of the child’s thermoregulatory center may also cause the child’s forehead to be too cold.
2. Upper respiratory tract infection: Upper respiratory tract infection is caused by rhinovirus, adenovirus, influenza virus and other pathogens. Patients will appear sneezing, coughing, runny nose, fever and other manifestations. And when the child has a fever, sympathetic nerve excitation easily causes peripheral capillary contraction, at this time there may be a cold forehead.
3. Hypothyroidism: Hypothyroidism is considered to be caused by autoimmune thyroiditis and surgical damage to the thyroid gland. Patients will have no sweating, lower than normal body temperature, chills, fatigue, drowsiness and so on. If the child has hypothyroidism, he or she will have a cold forehead.
4. Others: Children with sepsis may also have a cold forehead.
There may be other reasons for a child’s forehead to be cold, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
