How many months can I take the pill to abort my pregnancy?

Drug abortion, also known as medical abortion, refers to abortion in early pregnancy without surgery, but by injection or medication, the commonly used drugs are mifepristone and prostaglandin combined. Mifepristone can make the uterine meconium degenerate and necrosis, soften the cervix; prostaglandin can make the uterus contract and promote the embryo to expel. Medication abortion is easy, effective, non-invasive and avoids the complications that may result from uterine manipulation. Abortion can be performed through medication up to 49 days of pregnancy and can avoid the pain of surgical abortion and certain complications. However, abortion by medication is more dangerous, as there is a risk of prolonged vaginal bleeding after the abortion, resulting in incomplete abortion and the need to perform an operation to remove the uterus, thus causing some damage to the woman’s body. Medical abortion must be performed under medical supervision and, if necessary, hospitalization for observation. The indications for drug abortion are as follows: 1. young first-time pregnant women or unborn women; 2. menopause less than 49 days; 3. ultrasound shows intrauterine pregnancy with the average diameter of the fetal sac less than 20mm; 4. pregnant women without heart, liver, kidney, reproductive and endocrine system diseases. Therefore, drug abortion should pay strict attention to the indications. Pregnant women can wait until after 49 days of pregnancy, go to a regular hospital for ultrasound to determine the location of the embryo, and then reasonably choose the abortion method under the advice of the doctor.
