What to do about painful boils

Painful boils can be treated with topical medications (e.g. mupirocin ointment, ichthyolite ointment, etc.) and internal medications (e.g. amoxicillin, cefdinir, etc.) and surgery. 1. Topical medication: In the early stage when boils are hard and painful, patients can usually consider choosing topical medication, such as mupirocin ointment for anti-infection treatment, or topical ichthyolite ointment to promote the maturation of boil inflammation. 2. Internal medication: When patients have repeated episodes and then local treatment is ineffective, they can take antibiotics such as amoxicillin, cefaclor and other treatments, and when the pain is obvious or accompanied by fever symptoms, they can take ibuprofen, acetaminophen and other medications. 3. Surgical treatment: For boils that form abscesses, mature patients who have not yet burst, you can choose surgical treatment, with incision and drainage, and regular medication change. If the pain is severe, or the symptoms persist and do not get better, the patient should go to the hospital for treatment.
