The duration of acute renal failure is related to the severity of the disease, usually 2-4 weeks, and varies from person to person. Acute renal failure is a clinical syndrome with complications in various systems due to decreased glomerular filtration rate, resulting in azotemia, and disturbances in water, electrolyte and acid-base balance. Patients can develop hyperkalemia, oliguria, metabolic acidosis, and other symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. Acute renal failure requires aggressive treatment for the cause, including improvement of renal microcirculation, immunotherapy, and hemodialysis. Most acute renal failure can be relieved by active treatment for about 1 month. A few patients need to be treated for more than 2-3 months before kidney function can gradually recover. Patients with acute renal failure should actively search for the causes, such as insufficient renal perfusion, urinary tract stone obstruction, poisoning, infection, etc., and treat the causes in order to effectively correct renal failure. During the recovery period, Chinese medicine treatment can be given.
