Sputum pulling indicates that the sputum is thicker and not easy to spit out. It is mostly seen in respiratory tract infections, such as chronic pharyngitis, chronic bronchitis, allergic asthma, pulmonary tuberculosis, lung tumors, and secondary infections of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Sputum pulling is mostly white, so according to the results of sputum culture, it is easy to find the possibility of multilayered fungal infections, which need to be given antifungal drug treatment. Immune boosters such as human albumin and human globulin can also be given. Sputum pulling requires high resolution CT or enhanced CT of the chest to clarify the presence of malignant disease consumption at an early stage, and fungal infections secondary to the patient’s coughing up of sputum. Antibiotic treatment is less effective, mainly given antifungal treatment. Therefore, sputum culture and chest imaging should be performed as soon as possible to determine whether the infection is fungal.
